From another forum: Regarding the previous photo, there are no side mounted equipment. That way they left the factories. These were installed by the Heeres-Waffenamt.
Most likely, the photo was taken at the end of summer 1943, in a shooting range of MAN or WaPrüf ....................

I have a query on track links. Were two different designs used? My photo of the Tank Museum Panther shows two types of inner guides/sprags/teeth (not sure on correct term.

Not photos, but thought people would be interested to see the defect report from Pz.Abt 51/52 on 10th July 1943 and again on the 11th July 1943 (Source: Bundesarchiv RH10/64 Zusammenstellungen der Panzer- und Sturmgeschützlage bei Unternehmen "Zitadelle".- Heeresgruppe Süd)
