I think that these may be signposts in the Polish base of the Anders Army in Iran or Iraq. This army was organized in the USSR and then moved to Iran and then to Iraq. And then she fought in Africa and Italy

Possibly. "Comando" is also odd. English Commando. Polish Komandos, but post WWII. WWII Cichociemni.
