Hello Armin,
Wow! That is a new one to me. I don't see it in my references. All I can find is this photo from https://www.worldwarphotos.info/gallery ... ftwagen-i/ where it is towing a little tracked trailer. Can you further enlighten me about this interesting Ausf B variant?

Re: ► Photothread: Pz Kpfw I
Hi Max
there is not much info on this vehicle. Encyclopedia of German tanks
says turret and superstructure were removed, rear deck remained
to protect the engine. According to Spielberger the turret was removed
and both Ausf. A and B were converted. They were used until 1941 in repair
and recovery sections of armoured companies.
Similar vehicles were used as tractors, Pionierpz, supply vehicle etc.
so it is very difficult to say what version is depicted on a picture.
As a rough guide to identify Instandsetzungskraftwagen I look if there are spare parts
like road wheels are loaded. The marking with the German I identifies it.
Here some pictures which are and some which could be Instandsetzungskraftwagen I.
If you want some more pictures of turretless Pz I used in different roles let me know.
Regards
