Re: ► Photothread: German trailers
Hi Sturm78, hi Rocketman,
the first pic of Sturm78 and the pic of Rocketman is a Schwerlastanhänger (heavy load/duty trailer) for 150 tons. It had a length of 15 m and a width of 3.55 m. The 48 steered wheels enabled a turning radius of 14 m.
The second pic of Sturm78 posted is also a heavy load trailer, called Kranfahrzeug 150t, used for the transportation of heavy cranes on good roads. Presumably, only a few exemplars were made. The trailer had 24 wheels with 240 x 670 x 970 tyres.
Source of the pics and the information: www.kfzderwehrmacht.de.
Best regards
Bert

Here an additional image of what appears to be a Culemeyer Kranfahrzeug 150t with what looks like the portico of a crane

Hi sturm78, that's an interesting photo, surly they didn't transport it like that?!?
As to the trailer, I can't count the axles but with what looks like a gap in the bed, I think its an 8 axle, 110 ton trailer.
