Post by rolfi » 10 Nov 2006 12:54

The TF stands for Tragerfrequenz, the "F" flag relates to the sign below it.

F TF insignia, four section above,

Post by spannermann » 10 Nov 2006 20:10

The White F on a red background (its a red cloth fixed top and bottom to wooden sticks) is the standard German sign for a communications post.

It can mean a radio, telehphone or teleprinter, or all of them, in German all these methods of signalling begin with the letter "F", Funk, Fernsprech and Fernschreiber.

TF appears to be some indication of a frequency type.

cheers spannermann.

Riga Leningrad signpost two sections above

"h.k.p 608" is heeres kraft park 608 or army vehicle park.

"Sammelst Lw" is some sort of collection point for the Luftwaffe.

Struck gedächtnisstelle
?
Struck rememberance site.

Either a Mr. Struck died on this place or, more probabely, this Mr. Struck did something extraordinary (silly or lucky)

Just an educated guess

"Struck Memorial" would also be a good translation.

And it certainly appears to be an accident site - note the car flipping over from the bridge and the figure flying out underneath the lettering. I propose that Mr. Struck lost his life in this incident.

Cheers
Leo

Another one that literal translation via Babelfish seem to make little sense.
