Nice photos Sander,
I have found some more info on the Tatra fuel trailers. After a prototype had been built in 1936, the Romanians showed interest and ordered 25 units late in 1937. They were mostly used in combination with the T85 fuel trucks as we have seen on photos. When excactly there were built and whether they were ever delivered to Romania, is unknown to me.
Best regards
Kees

Helo Sander,
Apart from the prototype and the 25 units originally ordered by the Romanians, no oher units were built.
Best regards
Kees
PS. I enclose an exploded view drawing I came across. Hopes it explains how the trailer functioned.

Hello Keessmit and Sander,

Nice pictures of the Tatra fueltanktrailer. On the drawing you can see that probably the trailer has fourwheelsteering an the typical Tatra central tube chassis and the crosswise springleaf construction for a independence wheelsuspension. More technical details can be seen, but for the explanation of them we need a more clearer drawing.

in the book Fotografie in bezettingstijd is on page 81 a very nice color photo of the Tatra fuelltrailer taken at the Venlo airfield.

I am sorry my scanner is broken....maybe some of the dutch members have it also!

Sander I do like your photo, on the right we see the Mercedes-Benz LG 3000 Kfz.384, one of my personal favorite cars.

In my opinion the Mercedes-Benz LG 3000 Kfz. 384 was only used by the Wehrmacht Luftwaffe ( WL ) and Legion Condor ( LC ).

I have been through hunderds of photos of the Mercedes-Benz LG 3000 Kfz 384 but they have all the WL licenceplates, only a pair older photos have the LC licenceplates of the Legion Condor.

Hi sander,

Thanks for your image of the Tatra fueltrailer. It is a pity that the word Kopierschutz has been stamped cross over the image. Otherwise you had a beautiful look in the controlappartment of this trailer. The image with a Ford or Chevrolettruck with the three drums is a truck to purify (the "staying"ones) and to drain (the lying"one) aviation fuel.
For this purpose the lying drum was filled with a special kind of hay. Before the fuel was pumped from the storage tank into the tank of the fuel truck, fuel trailer or fuel semi trailer, the fuel was "serviced" by this truck.

Hi Sander and all the athers,

thank You for the really intersting pics of the tankers. I´ve learned a lot. But there are still questions. So I will post two puics with tankers I don´t know. Maybe one of You knows these tankers (source: Waffen-Arsenal, Podzun-Pallas-Verlag).
