Hi protze
Hi sander,

Thanks for your image of the Tatra fueltrailer. It is a pity that the word Kopierschutz has been stamped cross over the image. Otherwise you had a beautiful look in the controlappartment of this trailer. The image with a Ford or Chevrolettruck with the three drums is a truck to purify (the "staying"ones) and to drain (the lying"one) aviation fuel.
For this purpose the lying drum was filled with a special kind of hay. Before the fuel was pumped from the storage tank into the tank of the fuel truck, fuel trailer or fuel semi trailer, the fuel was "serviced" by this truck.
Thanks for the extra information on this ford / Chevrolet truck.

Regards

Sander

Hi All:

Regarding Sander's posting on 23/06:

I cannot ID the Bus or the fueler
The second photo seems to be a Krupp, possibly an L 3.5
The last photo is in my opinion a Ford AAA model.

Hello folks,

according to Bernd Regenberg`s "Das Lastwagen Album Krupp" Sanders Krupp tank lorry is a Krupp LD 2 H 142 with a tank superstructure of Werkspoor.
By the way, many thanks to you Bill and Bert for the comments to my Citroen three-axle lorry some weaks ago.

Regards, Holger.

Hi all,

Here some pictures from the fuel semitrailer DAF at Eindhoven (NL) had build in the period 1940-1941 for the Luftwaffe.
The tank has a volume of 10.000 liters.

In that same period DAF build in license from the Eylert Nutzfahrzeugbau at Wuppertal (D) 200 of these trailers for the Luftwaffe.

Hi all,

The DAF HD-semitrailer with the 10.000 liter tank was an own design of DAF. The Eylert fueltrailer was a design of the Eylert Nutzfahrzeugbau GmbH at Wuppertal (Germany). DAF had build 200 of these trailers for the Luftwaffe in order or license from Eylert.

Hi Nuyt, the Krupp tanker has the logo of Krupp on the radiator (the three rings) and on the left door panel is painted the words "oliehandelsmaatschappij"and the logo of Gulf.

Hi Protze, thank You very much for posting the very interesting pics of Ford and Chevrolet tankers.
Today I´ll post a pic of the rear of a tanker. It´s a Czechoslovakian Tatra T 85, employed by the Germans.

Bert

Thank you Protze! Nice pics. That Chevrolet-DAF sits kind of high on its fron axle. Could it have a DAF front wheel drive?

Hi Nuyt,

It could be that the Chevrolet has a additional DAF front wheel drive. With a little bit of fantasy you can see in the second picture in the shadow on the ground the contours of the differential of the front axle and the "spoorstangen" (sorry, I don't know the english translation). Perhaps somebody knows exactly the situation on this image?

Hi all,

yesterday I´ve found a pic of two tankers on an airfield (out of the Waffenarsenal of the Podzun-Pallas-Verlag): a Ford semitrailer and an Opel Blitz with a fueltrailer.
