Hi Genscher, hi Francy,
a good idea with the new thread of vehicles of the Kriegsmarine.
A question to Your posted pic of an Opel. Could it be the 1,5 to model and not the 2,5 to model?
By the way: an excellent pic of the Mercedes Benz L 3000 S in the long version, which I´ve never seen before.
I want to post a pic of a vehicle of the Kriegsmarine, too. It´s a Bedford MWD 15 cwt with a special German cab. (source: Jochen Vollert: Britische LKW im Dienste der Wehrmacht)
Regards
Bert

Kriegsmarine's Mercedes L.3000
From ebay exp.auction
Hello Francy,
An L 3000 with long-base-chassis is complete new to me. I've never heard from it before and I'm still not to old to learn. But this truck seems to be an L 3750, what do you think ??
And ooh, do I like discussions, your first picture is definately an Opel Blitz 1,5 ton and not 2,5. The 2,5 ton looks different. Here a picture of the 1,5 ton :
And you're second Blitz (Kastenwagen) is a 1 tonner and not a 1,5 tonner :
Sorry, but I'm very sure of all.....
Greetz,
Bert

Hi Bert,
I was thinking in the same way like You, because I´ve never seen a pic of a Mercedes Benz L 3000 with the long-based chasis. But anywhere I have read about the following trucks with a short and a long-based chasis, but I forgot where. Please, read the following informations about these trucks I noticed:
Klöckner-Magirus-Deutz S 3000 (short version: 3,70m, long version 4,20m), Mercedes Benz L 3000 S (3,80m / 4,25m), MAN E 3000 (4,00m / 4,65m) and Saurer BT 4500 (4,50m / 5,00m).
Regards

Hi SIS 5,
From the Opel Blitz 1 Ton and 1,5 Ton I'm 100 % sure.
The 3000-series which you mention are sure made with a longer chassis, but only for fabricating "Kraftomnibusse". Of each brand exists a 3-ton Bus variant on long base chassis, but sure no trucks.... But as I already stated, I'm not to old to learn and you never know. That is so beautiful about Wehrmacht History, still after 60 years new photo's and infos keep popping up. For me it always will be an adventure in search of new things......
