Re: Interesting eBay pics
Looking at the arrangement of the louvres on the nose. I'm 95% sure that it is an M36.
On the M38 the lovres are set into the nose plate, and are flush with it.

Re: Interesting eBay pics
This vehicle seems to be a 1938 Oldsmobile but I cannot read or manage to correct the photo to read the writing on the door.
I am not sure if it is a beute captured by the Germans or just an ordinary prewar photo.
Any help out there???
Bill

Re: Interesting eBay pics
Hi Bill,
A layman's opinion; The ambo appears to have a shield , typical of German fire brigades, painted on the door. Since most 3rd Reich pro fire brigade vehicle photos I've seen exhibit the generic Feuerlöschpolizei marking this would suggest a post-war photo.

Re: Interesting eBay pics
The answer is simple - it's a trophy.Bill Murray wrote:Still, how would a Panzer III in Poland then have a Polish registration plate???
I've seen several photos taken in Poland in 1939, where German vehicles are sporting interesting 'emblems' like eg. Polish coats of arms taken from some public buildings.
It seems, that the registration plate was taken off a civilian car (A47-476) registered in Łódzkie Voivodeship (A47-476) (see this for details).
Hope this helps,
MJU
