Re: Interesting eBay pics
Isn't it funny that they removed the turrets and their 45mm guns in order to create towing vehicles for 45mm guns ?

Thanks for the correction Rnox. I'm not much of a uniform guy. I thought that was the NSKK cap insignia.

A five horsepower Büssing-NAG “Burglöwe”, I would say a 2 to 3 tonner.

Re: Interesting eBay pics
Hi Max,
a very interesting pic of a "Burglöwe" truck. Thanks for posting. But it is really difficult to ID. In any case it is a Diesel. And wheels with eight bolts, so it cannot be the type 200 D. The other possibilities: the types 250 D, 260 D, 275 D, 280/285 D, 300 D, 305 D and 350 D. For me the truck on Your pic has a relatevely long motor hood. So I assume that it could be the heavier type 305 D or 350 D. But that´s only an assumption.
Best regards
Bert

One of my favorite vehicles, the SdKfz 251/17 Ausf D. The 1943 date appears to be written a penciled 1944. This vehicle doesn't have any markings apart from '321' which means it was assigned to a unit, (correct?).

This isn't an SdKfz 251/17 but a basic 251/1 with a 20mm gun mounted on a simple pintle in place of the forward MG. There is some question as to the type of 20mm gun, I have seen it suggested that it is a Solthurn ATR. The 321 would suggest that it is the platoon commander's vehicle of the 2nd platoon in the third company which would further suggest that this vehicle is serving "als SdKfz 251/10" rather than as a substitute 251/17.
