Hi all,

Not exactly a horse-drawn wagon but...at least blood-drawn wagon.... :)

According to Ebay photo caption a mortar cart by Schubert & Salzer of Chemnitz...

Any idea ? Was this cart manufactured in series ? Date ?

Hi Sturm 78,

a very interesting question. I think that the Wehrmacht used such carts for the transport of the 80 mm infantry mortar 34 (8 cm Grantawerfer 34) until the introduction of the special horse-drawn cart If. 9/1 in 1938. Here another pic of such carts (source of the pic: "Wenn alle Brüder schweigen").

Best regards

Bert

Thanks for your answer, Bert...

So, a pre-war cart. Do you know if this cart had any official Army designation ?

I am sorry, but I couldn´t find any official Army designation until now.

Niehorster.org mentions a Granatwerferkarre mit Rahmen M.24/25, maybe that.

Thanks Bert

About the designation Granatwerferkarre mit Rahmen M.24/25. if this cart was developed for the 8cm Gr.Wfr.34 mortar it is imposible a designation "M24/25"...

Hi Sturm 78,

sorry for my late answer to Your last questions.
04 October: I don´t think that this wagon is an Ersatzfeldwagen 40, but I am unable to ID this wagon.
09 October: I think that You are right. That could be a If. 3 model 38. Here another pic of such a wagon with AA machine guns.

Best regards

Hi Sturm 78,

that´s a "leichter Funkwagen" (light radio wagon) Nf. 3. Here a pic of this wagon out of the book "Bespannte Fahrzeuge des deutschen Heeres bis 1945" by Wolfgang Fleischer.

Best regards
