Hi Sturm 78,

now to the signals vehicle You posted 16 Jan. That is hard nut to crack for me. But I think it could be a heavy telephone wagon 35, the successor of the Fernsprechbauwagen 13 - telephone line construction wagon 13. It became the designation Nf. 1 and was similar to the Fernsprechbauwagen 13, but now with boxes made out of sheet steel. Unfortunately I have no pic of this signals wagon. Here a pic of the Fernsprechbauwagen 13 from the site of Holger Erdmann.

Best regards

Bert

Thank you for your answers, Bert...It is often quite difficult to differentiate these wagons....

An Ersatzfeldwagen, perhaps? But note different size of wheels front and rear.

Note too the curved brackets on the side of the wagon to carry something tubular.

John.

Hi John,

by chance I could find a pic of nearly the same wagon in the book "Die bespannten Truppen der Wehrmacht" by Klaus Christian Richter. Here the text to the pic: "Zivile Fahrzeuge konnten mit einfachen Mitteln für das bei der Wehrmacht vorgesehene "Fahrsystem Achenbach" hergerichtet werden." I understand the text in this way, that it is a normal, civil wagon confiscated for the Wehrmacht, and not an Ersatzfeldwagen.

Best regards

Bert

Many thanks, Bert.

The civilian origin of the wagon would explain why the front wheels were smaller than the rear.

John.

From current Ebay action. Osowiec fortress, Russian shelter (pre ww1) in Polish camo, so ww2 time, first capture 1939 (from Polish hands) or second capture 1941 (from Soviet hands).

Hi ucle (Slava),

nice vehicles. Thanks for posting.
Here a special machine gun wagon: a pedestal mount 36 with two MG 34 mounted on a light army field wagon (Hf. 1) (source of the pic: an expired ebay auction).

Regards

Bert
