Re: Vehicles on rails
Hi George:
I wonder if your last rail car could be this???
I'm not positive, the mounting of the headlamps is different but you can see "stubs" on either side of the radiator that may have been the original mounting points.
Otherwise, it looks pretty close.
Chevrolet/Daf staff car.

Re: Vehicles on rails
Hi Bill, I would agree that there is a strong possibility that the picture of the rail car is indeed a battered Chevrolet.Bill Murray wrote:Hi George:

Apart from the headlamp mounting stubs that you noted, the tires are exactly the same and the two piece windshield seems to match the opening on the rail car. The one thing which seems different though is the rear fender which is not flat metal as on the Chevrolet picture. It is an interesting topic. I had no idea how widely road vehicles were used on rails. I have seen pictures of a Willys MB jeep pulling rail cars in the far east. I always enjoy your posts.

Re: Vehicles on rails
Hi Bill,
I knew something didn't looked right with the Chev Staff vehicle. Then I noticed that they were right hand drive.
I have reversed your photo image. Interested in your comments if they should have been LHD
