Hi all,

here a car on rails from the USA. I think it´s a Chevrolet model 1937 (source: Knipping/Schulz: Reichsbahn hinter der Ostfront 1941 - 1944).

Greetings

Bert

Hi Bill,

not at all. Here a pic of another truck on rails: Henschel 6 J 2 (source: Wolfgang Westerwelle: Lastkraftwagen).

Greetings

Büssing with truck bed extension, sort of a Sattelzug.

Hi Markus,

thank You for the interesting pic. I don´t think that we here see a truck with a bed extension or a so called Sattelzug. This truck is transporting rails laid down on the bed of the truck and on the next wagon.

Regards

Bert

Thanks Bert,
That makes more sense especially on a straight section of tracks like in the photo. The combo doesn't look like it's cleared to negotiate any bends.

Hi guys
On ebay I bought the booklet "Autos auf Schienen" (Cars on tracks) by Alfred B Gottwaldt, Stuttgart 1986.
The book confirms that the purposely built Zweiwegefahrzeuge (two-way vehicles) had air-brakes, something noticed earlier on this thread. The Fauns had adjustable axles. Track width could be adjusted from 1800mm (road) to 1676 (spanish) 1524mm (russian) and 1435mm (standard track)
The enclosed photo shows a Faun on the Taman track near the Black Sea in 1943

Hi all,

I found on Ebay these images of Büssing-NAG rail trucks. Does anyone know the exact model? I guess that they can be BN Type 500 but I'm not sure.
