Hi Henning,

The guns are not 8.8cm Flak but 10.5cm Flak 38-39 on Geschützwagen III (E) railcars

Hi Markus:

The last photo is most interesting. I am not a railroad fan, but it certainly does not look very military like, nor like a normal civilian rail transport
Could it be some sort of crew bus or technical personnel bus used by railroad workers??

Hi Bill,

Trainspotting is not my hobby either but looks like a civilian diesel or petrol-engined railbus to me. Beute vehicle, according to the seller at
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 3D1&_rdc=1

Bill, I think Markus has it right; a lot of (European) railways produced railbuses between (and after) the wars; they'd have been used for passenger 'trains' on smaller rural lines where there wasn't enough traffic to justify a 'proper' train.

Thanks to both of you. You learn something new every day on this Forum.
Thanks to Google, here is a 1939 Fiat Railbus that made it's way to the US and was under rebuild in 1999
