Hi Max,
thank You very much for posting this pic of a fire engine with its crew.
Here some more information and a little correction: is is a KS 25 Kraftfahr-Spritze on the chassis of a Mercedes-Benz LS 3750. Between the fourth and the fifth man You can see the abbreviation KS. There wasn´t built a LF 25 Löschfahrzeug on the chassis of the Mercedes-Benz L 3750.
The KS 25 fire engines were built for the Reich Ministry of Aviation, the LF 25 later for the Reich Ministry of the Interior on other chassis. The number 25 stands for the power of the pump with 2500 litres in a minute.
The Mercedes-Benz LS 3750 had a six cylinder Diesel engine OM 67/3 with 100 hp and a crew of eleven men. Here an advertising of Mercedes-Benz for the Kraftfahr-Spritzen.

Re: ► Photothread: Vehicles of the Axis fire brigades
Hi Bert,
Thanks for the correction.
I was comparing it to this photo I have which looks to have a similar body. Then again I also have this one The nomenclature of these fire-fighting vehicles certainly is challenging at times (I realize they changed in 1943). Maybe you can help me to id the differences. Thanks.

Re: ► Photothread: Vehicles of the Axis fire brigades
Hi Max,
thanks a lot for Your response.
You are right, that the nomenclature of the fire-fighting vehicles changed in 1943, exactly from the 30th April 1943. From then on there was used uniforme designations of the fire engines:
KS 8 and LLG got the designation LF 8,
KS 15 and SLG got the designation LF 15,
KS 25 and GLG got the designation LF 25,
and the KL (Kraftfahrdrehleiter - motorized turntable ladder) got the designation DL (Drehleiter - turntable ladder).
But differences between the vehicles still remained, but unfortunately I cannot tell You which.
Possible difference between the KS and LG vehicle could be the closed boxes (KS) and open space (LG) under the steps.
The superstructure for the KS 25 were made by the companies Metz, Magirus, Fischer and Koebe.
I think that the superstructure of these KS 25 fire engines were made by the company Fischer.
For comparing a pic with a MAN D 1 KS 25 with a superstructure made by Fischer and an advertisement of the company Koebe with a Mercedes-Benz LS 3750 KS 25.A
A possible difference between the KS and LG vehicle could be the closed boxes (KS) and open space (LG) under the steps.
Best regards

Hi George,
thank You for posting this very interesting pic. But the vehicles on Your pic are not fire engines, but vehicles of the Organisation Todt with long conveyor belts.
