This set shows a "1000 Watt Transmitter".

Hi Luftflotte,
The electric power for the "1000 Watt Transmitter" in the Funkkraftwagen is provided by what looks like a 220/380 V, 12 KW, 25 amp Generator of an Sd. Ah. 24 trailer.
Cheers,
Max

Thanks Max. I see this is from kfzderwehrmacht but the numbers don't make sense. Instantaneous power is P = I*V so we have:

25A*220V=5.5KW
25A*380V=9.5KW

...as opposed to 12KW. So one of these numbers is not accurate!

Good question. IIRC the rated (nameplate) power of a generator in kW is the power output a generator can theoretically supply determined solely by the horsepower of the driving engine, following the formula kW=HP*0.746. In this case a 16 HP engine will result in a kW rating of 16*0.746= 12kW.
Cheers,
Max

Hi all,

What is the ID of this water carrying trailer in North Africa?

Many thanks, Dave

Hi Dave,
I think it's probably a commercial trailer of some sort.
Cheers,
Max

This is Italian water tank trailer of 5000 l capacity on Viberti standard medium trailer chassis (rimorchio unificato medio). Usually coupled with Lancia 3Ro with the same 5000 l water tank to form an outfit with 10,000 l water capacity, widely used in Africa.
