I think that this oddity is a British Humber Snipe, converted to woodgas production. If so, a rare beast,
Kerry.

Damn, Kerry, you do come up with the most interesting vehicles.
Yes, I agree, a ca. 1940 Humber Super Snipe (odd names you Brits gave some of your vehicles).
Civilian photo below showing the hood louvers and the radiator area which I think gives the answer.
Bill

Re: Wood gas vehicles: firewood in the fuel tank
A Big Thanks to Kerry and Markus for the latest groups of photos, most unusual vehicles and a welcome addition to the files.
Markus, I think your last car is a 1939 Dodge. Three photos are below showing various ID tips such as the chromium pieces on the side of the motor hood, the tail lamps and general appearance. One of the photos is a 1939 Plymouth from the rear showing the tail lamps, the cars were almost identical and the Plymouth photo was more clear..

Thanks Bill,
The 1939 Dodge in my Vanderveen had a quite different chromium trim on the bonnet which kinda threw me off.
Regards,
Markus
