Re: Bloody Hansa LLoyd/Borgwards
Hi Henning,
thank You very much for posting these pics of Borgward trucks. You know, I´m a fan of Borgward trucks. My question to the truck in the snow: could it be a dump truck of Borgward? For me it looks like.
Regards
Bert

Re: Bloody Hansa LLoyd/Borgwards
Hello Bertram
nice to read you , its a long time ago!
I think you are right. In my first look,I didnt notice the small details for a Borgward dump-truck!
I only saw one picture on a folder out of that time period with a dumper.
Do you get more pics with Borgward dumper?
best regards
Henning

Re: Bloody Hansa LLoyd/Borgwards
Hi Henning,
I totally agree with You. In the book "Vom Blitzkarren zum Großen Borgward" by Peter Michels I´ve found a pic of the same truck, I think, not with the same, but a similar flatbed. It`s a pity, that it is the right and not the left side of this vehicle.

Re: Bloody Hansa LLoyd/Borgwards
ok Bertram
lets try to discus this fact.
I poste a other pic from the same book in the Merkur site.
Look at the details.
Its a diesel too, different louvres in one diesel type? complete other design of the front window!
what truck of both is the Merkur IV?
My opinion:
My last post is the Merkur IV in beginnig 1937
your pic and Georges is a HL 4-4,5t end of 1937, I think this construction is the start of the Borgward 4,5-5 Tonner in 1938
whats your opinion about this theorie?
best regards

Re: Bloody Hansa LLoyd/Borgwards
Hi Henning.
The newer type might also be called a HL 4,5-5-tonner; cf. pic below from Autotypenbuch 1937. Merkur III is another possibilty for the three-way tipper; 4-tonner Merkur III and IV pics from Autotypenbuch 1936.
Regards,
Markus

Re: Bloody Hansa LLoyd/Borgwards
Hi all,
Markus posted today a very interessting E- bay offer in " interessting E-bay pics"
Like my opinion it shows a 3 Tonner Borgward in a very unusual and rare version. We discus it here 2 or 3 times. The last pics shows RAD trucks but here it should be WH
on one pic we can see , only 1 part of the windscreen is open?
and the side louvres are different to the standart. The Standart is 3 pieces for the " engine roof"
and here it seems only 2
knows every one the buyer of that album for asking better scans?
Best regards
Henning
oh, sorry I forget asking your opinion?
