Hello all, hello LuftflotteLuftflotte2 wrote:Interesting cab in Lublin, Poland.

indeed its a interessting and rare version of the Borgward 3t. Like my opinion its a special version only for the RAD. I know about 4-5 pictures with this cab, and all Borgwards have to do with the RAD!

Re: Bloody Hansa Lloyd/Borgwards
Interesting. So this vehicle has been transferred from the RAD to the Luftwaffe.
I was wondering what the meaning of "Lx" is. It is not a symbol I've seen before.

Hi Henning, hi Luftflotte 2,
I totally agree with You, Henning. This must be a version especially produced for the "Reichsarbeitsdienst" (RAD). Here apic of such a truck with a license plate of the RAD (source of the pic: an expired ebay auction).
Regards
Bert

This fact is a little bit complicated. THe equipement ,trucks and workers are all members of the RAD. This RAD units built for examples air fields for the WL. So we find the WL signs on the trucks and it could be that the Lx is also something WL.
Here is a little explination but unfotunaly only in german.

ps. other idea for Lx, may be it could be the WL unit L for Luftwaffen Bau Regiment and x for 10 or XI for 11

Re: Bloody Hansa Lloyd/Borgwards
Thank you for the links. If a Luftwaffen-Bau-Regiment is named after the Luftgau it belongs to, then Luftwaffen-Bau-Regiment X should belong to Luftgau-Kommando X. This unit only existed temporarily in 1938. In contradiction, the eBay seller states the location is Zamość, Poland. Which would imply that this photo was taken after 1939. Thus, the full symbol should be LXI (for the theory to make sense). Just a thought.

Hi Sturm,all
I think its more a HL 3t Europa II or III. Please compare both pictures about the details and have a look on the load capacity " 3000 Kg"

Hi Henning,
You know I have a deep respect for Your knowledge about Hansa-Lloyd trucks. But I have problems to agree with You. The truck on the pic You posted is for me also a Merkur because of the eight bolts. But maybe You know better the difference between Merkur and Europa 3-tonners.
Best regards
Bert

no problem, its good to hear from time to time a other opinion hmm and you are right I am not 100% sure. The load capacity from 3000 kg was for me importent not the bolts.... could it be a Merkur? may be!
I need some time discussing this with my friends.
best regards
