All that mud makes you wonder how the Soviet Army coped in the same conditions! You never see much about that side. According to popular legend the Soviet forces were well equipped for winter, their tanks and transport never froze in the bitter snow so they must have glided over the mud then. Time for a new thread?

& up to 1942 was perfected built in my grandfathers' city - Maripoul.
I'm puzzled as to why us happy 'clan' of peasants seem to rate little mention in this fora.
Professor Paton & his team are the forgotten men of WW2.....even though we perfected movign vehicles through mud.
