Looking at just one or two pictures of vehicles in mud you think, what a pain.

But having just looked through this whole thread (in one go), it's simply mind blowing to realise what effect the mud would have had to an army trying to move in such circumstances. Amazing that the Germans achieved anything in such circumstances.

Much has been written of the effect the mud had on the 1941 campaign. What about in '42 and '43? Was it as bad as in '41? How did bot the Germans and Russians cope?
