PS:
PS:
just now I realized that I wrote Ausf. L, in fact my wish was to write Ausf. F (late), really I do not know why I put L instead. Anyway clear now. Cheers. Raúl M .Pz Kw III Ausf. L (late version) or Ausf. G?
Re: Photothread: Pz Kpfw III
Hi Raul,
Most if not all Tauchpanzers can easily be identified by the mounting plate for the waterproof cover just behind the mantlet. This well known photo below shows this mounting plate to advantage.

Pz Kw III Ausf. G/H mit Schachtellaufwerk - Few prototypes based on Panzer III Ausf G/H with new large overlapping roadwheels and FAMO suspension were produced. Since 1940, prototypes were used for testing and training purposes. Further development was halted and in 1943/44 prototypes were fitted with dozers and were used to clean up the streets of bombed cities.

Not a HYBRID (what an awful word) David, an actual official prototype to experiment with that type of running gear.

Re: Photothread: Pz Kpfw III
Hi Alan.
I thought that the turret and parts of the hull front looked more like a PzKpfw IV, with a PzKpfw III gun, that was why I inserted the word hybrid.
