Re: Motorcycles of Wehrmacht
Hi Sturm 78,
it is a Zündapp KS 600 W. Here two pics of this motorcycle out of the book "Kräder der Kradschützen, Aufklärer und Melder 1935 - 1945" by Horst Hinrichsen. On the sidecar You can see the emblem of Zündapp.
Regards
Bert

Hi Sturm 78,
to Your three pics with the motorcycles. I´m not an expert in ID motorcycles, but I think that on the first pic is also a DKW, type NZ 250 or 350. On pic 2 I think like You, that it is the type NZ 350. And on the third pic there are Zündapp KS 600 as I assume.
Regards
Bert

BMW or Zündapp?SS-Hauptsturmführer Rudolf von Ribbentrop, 3. Kompanie, I./SS-PzRgt 12 in the sidecar and driving the motorcycle is SS-Obersturmbannführer Max Wünsche, Rgt. Komm. of SS-PzRgt 12, after visited the survivors of III Zug 15/25 in Rots, Normandy. 9 June 1944.

Hi Sturm 78, hi Alif,
sorry, Sturm, I forgot to answer to Your question: You are totally right, it is a Zündapp K 500 W.
Now to Your question, Alif: it is a BMW R 75. Here a pic out of the book "Die BMW Kräder R 12 / R 75" by Janusz Piekalkiewicz.
Regards
Bert

Re: Motorcycles of Wehrmacht
Hi Bert,
Good photo of Luftwaffe BMW R75's, for you interest the front two are MG carriers, but the second two are Dreibein 34 carriers, and this is repeated down the entire colum. (there are other photos of this column)
The Krads are in the 10th Kradschuttzen Kp, III Battalion, Schutzen Regt Herman Georing, HG Brigade mid 1942.
Later in October 1942 when the HG Brigade became the HG Division, the 10th Kp was converted into the 1st Kradschutzen Kp of the Aufklarungs Abteilung HG.
All these machines and the soldiers were to be lost in Tunisia by May 1943.
hope this is of interest, cheers leonard paul,
