Re: ► Photothread: Motorcycles of Wehrmacht
Hi Bert,
Thank you very much fot your answer.
About the first image I am not 100% sure. The front fender and fuel tank match with R61 but the side cylinder head seems of a R12 model....
On the other hand, I need help with this one :

Hi Sturm 78,
to the first image: here a pic of the BMW R 61(Source: ww.kfzderwehrmacht.de). I think, that there is not so much difference between the side cylinder head between the R 61 and R12 models.
Best regards
Bert

Hi Sturm78,
I think that is a Harley-Davidson 74U, ex-French army.
Cheers,
Kerry

Hi Sturm 78,
to Your last motorcycle: that could be a captured Harley Davidson type WLC. Here a pic of this model perfectly rebuilt (source of the pic: https://motorcycles-for-sale.biz/sale.php?id=47539).

Re: ► Photothread: Motorcycles of Wehrmacht
Hello Bert,
I agree I am incorrect and that it is very likely to be a WL model, but not the WLC. The WLC was made specifically for the Canadian armed forces, and, as such, the chances of one falling into German hands early in the war are very small. The caps worn suggest a date early in the war, at which point the only WL model which could be considered likely is the WLA, as supplied to US forces, and of which over 300,000 were supplied to the Soviet Union. So, unless it came from Western European sources, where the Model U could have been found, it is most likely a WLA from Lend-Lease sources. I know that the whole world was in turmoil by 1941, so anything is possible, but I accept that you are correct in your identification of a WL model Harley-Davidson.
Thank you Bert,
Kerry.

Re: ► Photothread: Motorcycles of Wehrmacht
Hi Kerry,
thank You very much for Your reply. Excuse me for the Harley. It was only an assumption. Thanks a lot for the information about the Harley Davidson WL.
Thanks for the two images. You are right. There is a bigger difference between the side cylinders than I thought. So the motorcycle on Your pic is not a R 61, but a R 71. Here a pic of it (source of the pic: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:BMW ... 09-04).JPG).
Best regards
Bert

Hi Sturm 78,
excuse me, please, I totally forgot to answer to Your question. You are right. On the pic You posted 21 Febr there is an Indian type 340 B on the left and a Norton type 633 Model No. 1 on the right.
The motorcycles on Your pic of Yesterday are Puch type GS 350.
Best regards
Bert
