Re: Motorcycles of Wehrmacht
Hi Sturm 78,
the Austrian firm Steyr-Daimler-Puch, founded in 1934, also produced motorcycles. The type S 4 is the abreviation for S= sport and 4 for four gears and it was the best of the Puch motorcycles in that time. It was produced from 1934 to 1942. This model was also interesting for the Wehrmacht. So this type was used in the army and airforce.
Regards
Bert

Re: Motorcycles of Wehrmacht
Hi Sturm 78, hi Kerry,
to Your motorbikes You posted. I tried to find these models.
Your motorcycle, Sturm 78, could be a DKW SB 250 or 350, they are very difficult to differentiate.
And Your motorcycle, Kerry, could be a Victoria, maybe one of the KR types. But I´m no expert in motorcycles. So it is more a speculation than a real identification.
Regards
Bert

Hi Sturm 78,
the motorcycle on the first pic You posted could be a DKW type RT (Reichstyp) 3 PS (3 bhp) with 98 cc.
On the second pic is a Zündapp KS 600 W.
Regards
Bert

Re Bikes.jpg (post by kerryhoo on 08.11.12 - 18:10) and response (by SIS 5 on 08.11.12 - 19:03) that the pictures depicts a French Rene Gillet G 1.
Please excuse my questioning this.
— the rear "seat" is different,
— the drive chain is on a different side,
— the front mud guard has a different shape,
— the ehaust system is different,
— not to mention the various bits a pieces such as horn, mirror, and even the side car.
Just askin'.
