The Germans around the Churchill while wearing "European" uniforms do have a mix of tropical and Gebirgsjäger caps, neither of which were common around Dieppe so could this be Tunisia ? A British tank in "green" and with the RAC flash on the side wouldn't be out of place there.

Hi Alan

I did consider North Africa but as far as I know MkIII and MkIV were only used there.

Could it be part of a dispaly of captured equipment being toured around Germany?

I know very little about armour, but I am sure that this is a British light tank of some sort. It is either in use or being examined post capture, but an interesting photo I think,

That Carrier is marked with the tactical sign of a workshops company and appears to be towing the lorry off the bridge.

Two pictures of ex-BEF Cruiser Tank Mk IV with Kriegsmarine staff, Antwerp Belgium 1940. Perhaps an exercise for usage with operation Seelion (invasion of UK). Later some 9 Cruisers were used with PzAbt (Flamm) 100 with invasion of Soviet Union.
Germans used it as Kreuzer Panzerkampfwagen Mk IV - 744(e). From ebay.

In the Tankograd magazine "Militär Fahrzeuge"of 1/2014 there is a 11 page article with lots of pictures about the German use of the vehicle.
