Re: ► Photothread: Czechoslovakian soft skin transport vehicles 1930-1945
Hi Andrij,
Thank you for that very interesting photo.
I do not normally like to post other people's photos, but given the scarcity of material, here is one from European Tourist Guides page on the Technical Museum Tatra. It shows a similar, but shorter wheelbase, version of the Tatra 72 truck. It is impossible to tell from the original photo whether it is a truck or personnel carrier/reconnaissance car, so perhaps it was this model?
Cheers,
Kerry.

Hi Kerry.
Nice hit. I think this is 100% similar to the Jose85 photo.

Hi Jose,
Great find!
As discussed in this thread viewtopic.php?f=47&t=73232&start=11760, this vehicle appears to be the staff car of Luftwaffe General Reuss.
Cheers,
Max

Hi Max,
Ok, many thanks, but that leaves a problem, the flag on the Skoda is for a Korps commander, not a divisional commander,'s pennant, so it probably not Reuss's car.
cheers PAUL

He had previously been with Stab/IV. Flieger-Korps, could the car have belonged to that unit?

Re: ► Photothread: Czechoslovakian soft skin transport vehicles 1930-1945
Hello Max and Paul,
As in most things I may be off-target, but the square pennant is designated to a Commanding General, the triangular pennant is described a being for the Commander of a Luftgau or Fliegerdivision. So, as Franz Reuss, although listed as Oberst when first in charge of 4 Flieger Division would have used the triangular form. Then, perhaps, on promotion to Generalmajor he would have been entitled to display the square pennant.
Just a thought,
Kerry.

Hi ,
The shape of the flag/pennant is not dependant on his rank, its dependant on what is his command, a square flag as shown on the Skoda is for a Korps commander and a triangular pennant would be for a Division commander.
cheers Paul
