► Photothread: Tractors of the Axis

Post by Maxschnauzer » 17 Jun 2015 23:43

While doing research on a particular tractor identification it became apparent that there was no single thread dedicated to this topic and perhaps one would prove useful in future. As I see it the Czech and beute tractors may be left to their respective threads, if preferred, but at least German, Italian, and Japanese tractors could have a photo repository of their own. Suggestions are welcome.

Having said that I'll start off with some photos of the Hanomag SS 100 Gigant:

I need help on this one. I can't quite resolve the name on the nose, looks like it starts and ends with a script S (could be a beute?):

My apologies for posting this previously but it's quite an unusual and interesting view of the ballast/equipment compartment of a Kaelble type Z 6 W 2 A 130 which I'd like to add to this thread.

Hi Max,

the tractor on Your pic is a Deutz type F 2 M 315. Here a pic of such a tractor built 1938 (source: http://fahrzeugseiten.de/Traktoren/Deut ... 2m315.html).

I never really did much research on tractors, either wheeled or tracked but I do have a few photos to add.

Here, a Hanomag Schlepper.

Here's a real oddball:
Diese "Limousine" ist ein umgebauter Hotchkiss, der bei der 18.SS-Pz.Gren.Div. "Horst Wessel" als Artillerieschlepper im Einsatz war
