Hi Slava,

thank You for posting these two pics. Here the translation:
1st pic: "West front magazine"
2nd pic: "The war with France is over. 22.6.40 18 o´clock" (the time of the Armistice of 22 June 1940, signed at 18:36 near Compiègne).

Best regards

Bert

Hi glushenko,

thank You very much for posting these interesting pics. Here the translation:
1st pic:
"We are coming from Paris
and we already were in Poland,
now we want holiday/vacation
and then we want to get England!"
2nd pic:
on the first truck:
"In the East there is shining the red sky, it brought (the fast death) to the Pole". Interesting, that the end of this sentence is painted over (it could mean "den schnellen/frühen Tod" = "the fast/early death"), the same with the middle part of the license numbers of both trucks.
" Warsaw - Köthen - Express" (Köthen is a small German town between Magdeburg and Leipzig)
on the 2nd truck: "Let´s go to mummy!"

Best regards

Bert

Have the middles of the licence plates been painted over, I wonder? Or are the numbers simply WL 36 and WL 38?

Hi John,

the license plates have painted over. Have a look on the plates with reversed colors (black to white, white to black). I think You can detect that there is a manipulation of the license plates.

Best regards

Bert

hi,

here not real graffiti, more graphik art: woodcarvings on trucks, probably trucks with field kitchens because of the menus (source of the pics: expired ebay auctions):
pic 1: on the left side a mailbox of the army postal-service. The text over the menu: "Eat Your fill, what is good!" The menu for dinner at 5 p.m.: butter and ham.
pic 2: The text over the menu: "M! My favourite meal!" The menu of supper 11:30 - 12.00 a.m.: "pearls barley soup with beef and pork".

Regards

Bert

Hi,

here the next graffiti, made after the campaign in Poland (source of the pic: an expired ebay auction):
"Vor kurzem spuckten sie große Töne, - "A short time ago they were bragging,
jetzt sind sie klein, die Polensöhne." - now they are little, the Polish sons."

Regards

Hi Slava,

thank You very much for the two interesting pics of a trailer. Here the translation:
1st pic: "You want it that way! Paris!"
2nd pic: "Marianne. Now there´ll be hell to pay!"

Here another pic, this time not with a motor vehicle, but with a railway wagon (source of the pic: ebay).
The text to the pic: "Parachutists are coming from Crete".

Best regards

Hi Slava,

thanks again for the pic with the next trailer maybe of the same unit (Luftwaffe).
The translation: "This was the first strike! That was Poland".
On the right side You can see a part of a map on the left the border between Germany and Polen and in the north East Prussia. Poland is crossed trough.

Here another pic, also about Poland (source: ebay):
On the door an old German proverb in a dialectal form:
"Wer andern eine Gräbe grubt, - "Who is digging a pit for others,
sich selber in die Neese pupt." - will fall into it himself."
"Radom - Halle" - a town in the south-east of Poland and a German town in Saxonia-Anhalt
"Der Schirmherr von England" - "The patron of England" or "Sir of England with umbrella" an interesting play on words, an allussion to Chamberlain.
"Deutschland : Poland 1 : 0" like a notification of a soccer match.

Hi,

here another graffiti:
"Mutti gibt acht auf die Deichsel, - "Mummy is looking after the shaft,
wir kommen von der Weichsel." - we are coming from the (river) Vistula." (in Poland´)
