Hi,

here another graffiti on a tanker of the Luftwaffe (source of the pic: an expired ebay auction):
"Achtung" - "Attention"
"Die Kakadu Kämpfer kommen" - " The cockatoo fighters are coming"
The cockatoo is a parrot. Maybe it was used as the name of a flying unit of the Luftwaffe.

Bert

Hi,

here the next graffiti on a captured British truck. I can only decipher the first three words, sorry. Source of the pic: an expired ebay auction.
"Der rasende Roland" - "The breakneck Roland"
That´s the name of an old railway on the German island Rügen in the Baltic Sea. It´s a joke, because the trains were very slow.

"Stuttgart" - "Stuttgart"
"Ba(a)r Betrieb" - "bar operation"
"1000 schöne Frauen täglich hier zu sehen." - "1000 beautiful women here to see every day."

Hi Kerry,

thank You very much for posting this interesting pic. The special is, that the words on the door are Polish, the others German.
Here the attempt of an translation:
On the door:
Butter, eggs, bread,
the Pole got (a clip) on his head.
On the tarpaulin:
Poland is dead!
England in difficulties!
France before collapse!
Germany, that's Your prey!

Hi,

here another graffiti on a truck of an engineer unit (source of the pic: an expired ebay auction):
"Hi - ha - ho!" - "Hi - ha - ho!"
"Polski ist Ko" - "Poland is k.o.!"

Then there is a drawing of a destroyed bridge of the Vistula (Weichselbrücke).
The next words I cannot decipher.
On the box on the top right are girl´s names: Ria - Ilse - Maria.

Regards

Bert

Hi Slava,

excuse me, please, that I didn´t translate the text on the Elephant on Your pic. I had not time.
A very interesting example of graffiti made by workers of the factory of Porsche I think.
Here the translation:
"Viel fleissige Hände" - "Many industrious hands"
"schufen ein Werk zu Ende." - "completed a work."
"den 8.5.1943" - "8th May 1943"
"Fahrzeug fertig:" - "Vehicle finished:"
"Frei zur Reparatur für Siemens." - "Free for repair by Siemens." (Siemens - a German company)
"Porsche und Siemens sind auch fertig!" - "Porsche and Siemens are also finished!"
"Donnerwetter!" - "I´ll be damned!"
"Ferdinand, so heißt er." - "Ferdinand, so it is called."
" ??? "
"Die Baras-Nachtschicht ist zu ENDE!!" - "The Baras night shift is at the end!!" (Barras is the synonym for the Wehrmacht)
" ??? "
"Erst wenns "aus" wird sein mit ana Musi und an Wein," - "Only when the music and the wine is over,"
"do pack ma unsre Zwetschgen ein" - "then we will pack our things"
"und fahrn hoim." - "and drive home."

Best regards

Bert

Hi Slava,

that´s really an especially interesting pic. That must be a pic of the last of the 90 produced tank hunters "Tiger". Hitler gave the official name "Elefant" to this vehicle, but more usual was the mocking name "Ferdinand", the first name of professor Porsche, the constructor of the complicated chassis of this vehicle (VK 4501 P = Porsche). The company Alkett got the contract to built the armored superstructure on the produced chassises. So the pic must have been taken in Berlin-Spandau 8th May 1943, when the last "Ferdinand" was handed over to the Wehrmacht.

Best regards

Hi Bert,
No need to guess, the chalked vehicle tells the story:

Cheers!

Hi ilfil,

thank You very much for Your reply and the confirmation, that it was the last "Ferdinand".
You have an excellent enlargement of the pic. Do You have a special computer oder a special program for it. Please, let me know. I would like to enlarge pics in such a quality like You do.

Best regards

Hi Bert,
Nothing extraordinary, just pictures scanned in good resolution. BTW, I forgot: those pictures are from Nibelungenwerk, not from Berlin. Being a celebration vehicle the last Ferdinand was pictured very well all around.
With this particular Ferdinand for me all started from the Dragon 1/35 kit (theoretically, for 1/35 isn't "my" scale). I wasn't surprised to see traditionally for the Chinese wrong decals in it:

http://www.wettringer-modellbauforum.de ... adID=39744

Just one example. It isn't necessary to be a German or even to know German language to see that "Fahrzeug fertig: Frei zur" isn't "Porsche", etc.,etc.

Cheers!
