Hi Raúl, hi tigre,

thanks for posting these pics with graffiti.
I will try to tranlate the words:
"Polaki kaput - "Polaki (Polish for the Poles) broken"
"Auf nach Paris!" - "Onto Paris!"
"Maruschka" - Maruschka is the pet name for Mary.

"Mutti sei auf Posten" - "Mummy stand guard"
"Vati kommt vom Osten!" - "Daddy is coming from the East"

Here a pic with a very antisemtic graffiti:
"Isaak Afterduft" - "Isaac Anus-smell"
"Viel Judendreck und Sand" - "Much Jewish rubbish and sand"
"gab´s im Polenland." - "there was in Poland."
"Sarah Ziegenfeld" - "Sarah Goatsfield"

Hi,

here a pic of very low quality, but with an interesting graffiti I think:

"Wir grüßen die Mädels der Heimat" - "We salute the girls in the homeland"
"Wir wollen wieder zu unseren Frauen" - "We want back to our wifes."
"Gruß aus ??" - "Greetings from ??"
"Parole Heimat" - "Codeword Homeland"
The last word I cannot decipher.

Regards

Bert

Hi Slava,

thank You very much for this pic, one more in my collection.
Here the next one, this time on a captured Polish gun:
"Stosstrupp Westerplatte" - "assault detachment Westerplatte"

The Battle of Westerplatte was the first battle in the Invasion of Poland and marked the start of the Second World War in Europe. Beginning on September 1, 1939, German naval forces and soldiers and Danzig police assaulted the Polish Military Transit Depot on the peninsula of Westerplatte, in the harbour of the Free City of Danzig. The Poles held out for seven days in the face of a heavy attack. (wikipedia)

Hi,

here the next graffiti:
on the motor hood (the first sentence I cannot decipher):
"um mit frischem Mut gegen England zu ziehen." - "in order to march against England with fresh courage."
on the door:
"Von siegreicher Fahrt kehren die Düsseldorfer Jungs zurück" - "The boys from Dusseldorf are returning home from a victorious journey"
"Holland - Belgien - Frankreich - Paris nach Deutschland." - "Holland - Belgium - France - Paris to Germany."

Hi,

here another graffiti, this time after the campaign on the Balkans on a bus in two pics:
"Ein Sliwowicz is´ gefällig" - "A slivovitz is pleasant" (slivovitz is a fruit brandy made out of damson plums, very popular in Yugoslavia)
"Balkan Express" - "Balkans express"

Hi,

here the other part of the graffiti on the same bus:
"WC und das Peterle" - "WC and Pete"
WC is the abbreviation for Winston Churchill, smoking his cigar, and Pete (Peterle) is the diminutive form of Peter. But I have no idea, which Peter could that be. Maybe one of You has an idea.

Is that King Peter of Jugoslavia. Installed by the British after the Germans thought man was in charge.

Hi Dave,

that´s it. Thank You very much for this information. King Peter was only 17 years in 1941. So the German diminutive form of Peter (Peterle) does fit exactly.

Best regards

Bert

Hi,

here the next graffiti (source of the pic: an expired ebay auction):
"Es gibt keine Insel mehr!" - "There is no island any more!"
"Scapa Flow." That must be an allusion to the event of 14 October 1939, when a German submarine penetrated Scapa Flow (selected as the main British naval base during WWII) and sank the battleship "Royal Oak", which anchored there.
