Hi Armin,
Thanks for posting that very interesting photo. I haven't seen that version before but here are two other upgunned Panhard 178s comparing a 5 cm KwK 38 L/42 on the left and 39 L/60 on the right. One is in German service, the other has been recaptured by the French.

Hi Armin,
Those are wonderful photos, thanks very much. I was rather disappointed that the Panhard 178 was dealt with in just one sentence in Spielberger's "Beute-Kfz und Panzer der Wehrmacht" which is otherwise quite comprehensive on French conversions.

Hi Max,
just had a look into the Spielberger book. The entry for the Panhard 178
is really disappointing and not even one picture for this interesting vehicle.
So here some of the more rare variants. Hope that many of them are new for you.

Hi Armin,
I'm speechless! Thanks so much for generously sharing all these photos. Your photo archives must be impressive indeed. There is a lot to unpack there. Some are a complete mystery to me . For example do you have any idea what this one is supposed to be? Thanks once more for all the photos.

Re: ► Photothread: French Equipment in German Service
Hi Max
I'm glad that you liked the pictures. I've been checking the internet
especially EBay for nearly 25 years now, collecting photos and that's
what I found. Usually there is not much info on the photos that are
offered for sale and so for many of these rare birds there is only guessing,
since most of them are not mentioned in any books or literature that I own.
The version that you asked for looks like a vehicle used for drivers training
with the windscreen and no armament or radio equipment (no antennas).
What do you or anybody else think?
Regards
Armin
