Hey.
I´m interested in the "Reihenwerfer (16fach) auf Somua MCG S 307 (f)".
I do some researches since a few weeks and by no I have got 7 pictures of this vehicle (the 16tube launcher only...)
There is one group of three fotos which show obviously the same vehicle, another group of two fotos showing vehicle,
and three other fotos showing different halftracks.
So this is the point where everything starts to become confusing.
In the 7 pictures I found two types of launching racks that are essentialy different and another two that are only slightly different.
The 1st type is characterised by the fact that the adjusting wheel is fixed to a tripod on the rear of the frame (sorry I´ve only got the foto in "The encyclopedia of German Tanks of WW2, plate 844) and a different form of the Frame compared to the other 3 types.
The 2nd Type seems to share the launching rack with the 20tube-launcher, but in contrast to the 20tube version that has two adjusting wheels on a tripod with four legs (sorry I don´t know the english word
) the 2nd type still has the tripod which is remarkably lower than the four-leged one.
The frame of the third type looks just like the 20tube launcher including the holder for the adjusting wheels.
And there is a fourth type which is basicly the same as the third but has an additional stowage bin attached to the holder for the two adjusting wheels.
And now the questions
Is that list I wrote correct and complete?
Which version was built first and which one last?
Why are there so many different versions?
How many vehicles were built in total?
And most important for me: Which version did the 21st Panzer Division use? I have two different fotos people told me both of them were used by them, but I thought they only had one launcher.
Well I hope you understand what I mean, maybe it´s too confusing for my first posting here
Thanks a lot and best wishes

Hi guys,
Here are two pics of the relatively rare Panhard command version, of which I think only 23 were made - if I recall correctly. Images are from ebay, ww2seller is the seller
Cheers
