Re: My favorite Panzer Photos
It seemed a lot like that to me also, so I checked. I.a.w. the monthly report dated 1 June 1944 of the Heereswaffenamt "Überblick über Rüstungsstand des Heeres" there were 615 Tiger I and 31 Tiger II in the German Armed Forces on that date. (For Army, Waffen-SS, Luftwaffe; including ready, under repair, awaitong repair, in transit; in training establishments, at replacement tank parks, etc.)

Re: My favorite Panzer Photos
My mircofilm reader is offline at the moment. The data you want is to be found on the NARA film T-78/Roll-621: Panzerlage. It covers the period Jan 1944 through March 1945.
Maybe someone can check their films and post the data here.
Cheers

For Normandy 3 -possibly. There were however 3 Abteilung on their way to the front. In total 8+45+45+45+14+14=159 Tigers saw action in France June-September 1944. To this you can add vehicles from Mailly or other training establishments. 10 might have made it back home.sir dude wrote:Hmm,thanks Leo. Adrian.
A lot of people seem to believe German tanks/Stug were rare creatures in late 44/45. The number show otherwise

Re: My favorite Panzer Photos
Hi Everybody,
I recall there was a picture in this forum where lots of german tanks and other vehicles are gathered together most likely by allies, there were 2 Panthers on it with different zimmerit types, their turrents mostly were visible.
Can someone help to find it here please, I forgot the topic where it was posted and gave up searching, sorry.
Thanks
