Pz.IIs in Polish Campaign, Radom top, Wieluń (Welun) bottom or so the seller wrote, looks like tank at the bottom and the left one in top pic have almost identical damages: sprocket, tracks, fender, front return roller; the houses match too (Source eBay.de).

Hi Marcus,
Pz. Reg. 1 in the Polish Campaign: Field workshop apparently mostly rebuilding damaged Pz. IIs and a Pz. IV photo
Here more photos of this Panzer-IV:

Image

And a Panzer-III from Pz.Rgt.1 in the same place (Towarowa street in Sochaczew):

Image

The same tank - probably late Autumn (compare the trees):

Image

Panzer II No 106. from Pz.Rgt.35 (4. Pz.Div.) - soon after the battle of Ruszki / Adamowa Gora:

Image

The same Panzer II No 106. from Pz.Rgt.35 (4. Pz.Div.) - some time later, Sochaczew (Towarowa street):

Image

Sochaczew - Towarowa street - more tanks:

Image

Panzer-IV No 814. - several photos:

Here it encountered Polish resistance (or AT mines ?):

Image

Ruins of castle in Sochaczew can be seen in the background:

In Sochaczew - late Summer / early Autumn:

In Sochaczew (the same place) - snow can be seen, Winter (1939 / 1940 ?):

Polish Campaign: Pz. IV in a village near Tuchola Forest, Pz.II No. 706 of Pz.R1 and a Pz. 35(t) (Source eBay.de).
Excellent Pz-IV photo.

As you noticed, both photos show the same place. There are more photos of these wrecks.

Unfortunately the seller is wrong in this case. This is not Radom nor Wieluń but Warsaw - Grójecka street.

Some more photos showing the same place:

There are words which carry the presage of defeat. Defence is such a word. What is the result of an even victorious defence? The next attempt of imposing it to that weaker, defender. The attacker, despite temporary setback, feels the master of situation.

Hello Markus,

From the top of my head I think that your 1st Panzer 38(t) [IIO2] has been knocked out in a French town in 1940.
The second Panzer 38(t) has been knocked out by a Panhard 178 (6e RC - Lieutenant Astoul) and the other wreck is a Somua S35 (4e RC - Lieutenant de Conigliano) knocked out by AT/AA guns, both in Landrecies on May 17, 1940.

Regards,

David

Markus
Hi Markus,

I think David is right if it comes to Pz.38(t)s - they are from France. But Pz.II is clearly from Poland (white cross).

And here some more photos - two destroyed Pz.IIs - the first one was destroyed in Brest Litovsk on 14.09.1939 (this Panzer II was the tank of the commander of III. platoon from 5. company of Pz.Rgt.8 / 10. Pz.Div.). There are more photos of this Pz.II (Carius posted one of them). The 2nd photo is another photo of this Pz.II destroyed in Warsaw:

The 2nd photo is from ebay.de:
