A line up of Wiking BMWs, showing the sequential numbering... they're actually parked in order too!

Found on eBay this truck with SS-403154 as license plate -- 7.SS Prinz Eugen -- probably same unit like this other Ford v3000 previously posted SS-403147

Hi there,

Just to add into this thread, an interesting thing here of LSSAH vehicles re-using a number plate. Firstly we have a Horch 830R taken in Flanders, 1940, (ex ebay picture on old timer gallery) then a Horch 930V (I think) taken in the West during the formation of SS-Artillerie-Abteilung 101.

The shot is from Fischers book "Von Berlin bis Caen", pg 138, showing the cars of Brigadeführer Staudinger and Obersturmbannführer Steineck at Schloss Labers, near Meran am Etsch.

Both have plate SS-1050,

For the record, the Mercedes has the plate SS - 164232

Here are two shots of Skoda Superb 3000 (Typ 952), Kfz 21 (cabrio),

As many of the Skoda Superb 3000 series were built specifically for the Waffen SS, there are a number of photos of them in service.

Both images come from the Old Timer site

On the thread "WHAT SS uNIT?" there is a picture of another Skoda Superb 3000 (Typ 952) with license plate SS-503176. All relevant info is stated in the thread.
Sidenote: I'm currently going through the pictures in this thread plus some others trying to identify the exact units. So far I have managed to do so with some. If anyone else is doing this also you could contact me and we could maybe help eachother. I'm not a professional but I know enough at this point to give it a serious try.
Will post some of it here at a point when it appears complete enough to not make me look like a total amateur :)

Steve:

Hans will surely clock me if I am wrong, but that is what I agree is a DB 170 2 door sedan of about 1935-1936, first I have ever seen as an impressed vehicle.
Nice find.

Steve:

You are really getting too good at this ID thing. I cannot speak for the motorbike, not my thing, but you nailed the rest. We need to elevate your status to some sort of "very smart fellow" or some such.
BTW, I would ID the truck to the left in your last photo as a 1939 Ford and it could have come from any number of West European countries, including Germany.

Keep them coming Steve, I am really enjoying this.
Cheers

Hi guys,

One more from the Der Führer series from ebay, another motorbike, a BMW? (I'm not great on motorbikes....) What is curious is the camouflage on the headlight, looks like a Totenkopf, but all the other shots are of DF, and the number range from the beginning of this thread backs it up too. Odd.

SS-7851

And Bill, I can spot some vehicles pretty well, but as we all know it's a big old world out there when it comes to WW2 vehicles, we can all be stumped - you've helped me out at least three times (the Alfa-Romeo, the Renault Primaquatre and more recently the Mercedes L2000.... to name a few!)

Cheers
