Re: Beute- and Umbauwagen
Hi Markus,
to the pic You posted yesterday. Sorry, but that´s not a Polish Polski FIAT. I think it is a German Krupp. On the front of the motor hood You can see the emblem of Krupp, the three rings. I assume, that it is the type L 3,5 or LD 3,5.
Regards
Bert

Re: Beute- and Umbauwagen
Thanks Bert,
You're right again. The Krupp emblem I can't see but in retrospect a Polski FIAT 621L's hood louvres start closer to the radiator mask and the front wings are farther from the cabin than with the Krupp in the photo.
Regards,
Markus

Re: Beute- and Umbauwagen
Hi Guys:
The car is definitely a 1934 Desoto.
The truck, hard to see really, is I think a Chevrolet of 1939 or 1940 vintage.
I am trying a new Photo Edit program and will see if I can sharpen it up.
Bill

Re: Beute- and Umbauwagen
Hola Sturm:
Thanks so much for the Bedford photo. The only one I have seen with this body and I have seen a lot.
Looks to have been produced in a small series by someone and a nice job at that.
Bill

Re: Beute- and Umbauwagen
Thanks for posting the Beute Bedfords - they look to be based on the 15 cwt MW rather than the OXD. There appears to be at least 4 of them and it looks like they are in the post Feb 1943 colour of 'dark sand yellow.' I doubt the photo was taken in Feb 1943 as it took time for the grey camo to be intoduced, so a later date is likely; perhaps winter 1943/44.

Believe you're right. Chevy side louvres are visible in Holger's photo.
