Not in German service but... Can anyone identify these vehicles in use with Italians ?? Morris CS8 ??

Yes CS8s they are. And it looks those stupid-looking bodies were put in serial production by the Italians.

Hi Sturm,
It is interesting to note that the Humber has had its headlights replaced, presumably by the Germans after capture. You will see the mounting for the original right-hand light (on the left in our view) just outboard of the radiator, the new lights having been moved to the top of the wings.

Hi Sturm,
The vertical ribs on the front suggest a Karrier CK6, but as you know, these flat fronted 3-tonners are very hard to identify, particularly with a watermark through the middle. The cab has been completely built-up from the open topped British configuration, that is my best guess, but I will go back to the references to check.

Hi Sturm 78, hi ilfil,

maybe another pic of this Italian unit in the desert of North Africa (source: ebay). But the Italians fitted only 28 captured Morris-Commercials CS 8 with Italian 65/17 guns (source of this information: "Italian Truck-Mountes Artillery in Action" by Ralph Riccio and Nicola Pignato.

here an interesting "Beutefahrzeug": a British Ford E 917 T used as a Barrage Balloon Winch vehicle (source of the pic: an expired ebay auction).

I am not sure about this truck: Ford Sussex - Ford E 917 T ?? What is the difference ?
Any idea about the exact purpose of this special vehicle ??

Hi Sturm,
No difference. E917T indicates the country of origin, model year and type (here British-build 1939 model with 85 hp engine and 157" wheelbase), the usual Ford model index practice. So Sussex could be also 51, 79 or E817T, for example. Note though, in those designations only 2-axle trucks wheelbases are coded (no multiaxle trucks production by Ford back then), so here Sussex name is really important, indicating Six wheeler. There were two of them on the same chassis: Sussex 6x4 and Surrey 6x2, both ofically known as Fordson, used almost exclusively by RAF. Most probably this one is "photographic tender".
