Notice that the first photgraph has a "mountain" tactical sign while the second doesn't. Just a lazy painter I guess.

The tactical sign is for a non-motorised Pionier unit so perhaps it is the Bear insignia of 24 Infanterie Division.

24. Inf Div was considered too but it looks to me the right paw is in "Heil!" position. however, maybe this isn't paw but nose, so probably you're right.

Hi ilfil and Alan,
I would say 24 I.D. as suggested, the bear looks to be striding with it's left leg, not standing, right leg forward, like the 35 P.R. The spray man went a little overboard with the number of applications, but it does help, the others do not seem to have the elongated "face".
