Post by viper1000 » 13 Jun 2006, 18:13

Hello,i would like to show you two cars.....no unit sign but also nice insignia

The first pic from my own collection shows the comandcar from Generalfeldmarschall Fedor v.Bock 1941 in Smolenks -
at this time he was the leader of the Heeresgruppe Mitte.. The car ist an Mercedes Benz Type 540 K, with an
8 Zyl, 5,4l, 115 PS machine with komressor (180 PS ) The highleaders of the Wehrmacht get their cars from Adolf Hitler himself. Clearly see the flag of an german Generalfeldmarschall.

the secondpic shows the the same car ealier

third pic shows the command car from Generalleutnant Friedrich Carl Cranz, commander of the 18. ID schlesisch-
Here while the france action. Its an Pullman Cabriolet ( 8 Zyl., 5,0 l, 100 PS )with interesting signs.
From left to the right: Generalstander (commanding general ), white "WH" - Divisionschild ( black/white/red ) - Numberplate with IK civilnumber for Ober und Unterschlesien - Divisionsstander ( black/white/red) Kommandeurswimpel (commanding officer ), and at the last a white "kranz" in aspect of his name.

Picture two and three are from Pkw der Wehrmacht, Dörfler Zeitgeschichte

Hi Viper:

Your first photo is actually a Horch, most likely an early 830.

Thanks for the pictures viper!

Nice to see evidence of a car Changing from civilian Berlin-plates (IA) to Wehrmacht-plates (WH).
You dont happen to have the full civilian plate-number of GFM Fedor von Bocks M-B in a photo?

Here is something a bit different.
The car is an Adler 3gD, a purpose built military vehicle.
The registration plate is one I do not remember seeing before. It does not look like a civilian one but does not fit the usual system for military plates either.
Any thoughts??

And, when asked "Boy did you take your stupid pill this morning?" he replied "Sir, Yes Sir".
Thanks Mike. Too bad, I thought I had the only photo in the world of a RHD Adler 3gD.
