Hi Francy:
Most unusual ambulances. They are Volvos, probably pv800 series of 1940 or so. I would guess they were supplied to the Finns by one or another Swedish organization and either captured or seconded to the Germans when they were allied with the Finns.

I think that is exactly a 1938 Volvo LV 101 "Sharpnose"

A rare find!

You are of course correct, JA. I posted too quickly. There were, though, also ambulances based on the PV (passenger vehicle) chassis as well as the LV (cargo vehicle) chassis.
I will try to post a photo of a PV ambulance later.

Maybe somebody has photos SdKfz 253 used as ambulans? Somewhere I read some one was used exactly as ambulans.

It´s a 1939 Citroën TUB or TUC, with forward control cab and front wheel drive. Mechanical is inherited from the Citroën Traction Avant.

1700 examples were built of the TUB model (9 CV), payload of 850 kg
50 examples were built of the TUC model (11 CV), payload 1.200 kg.

I guess it´s a TUB model, because of the number of them produced. Nice van, itsn´t it?

Greetings

Hallo Jalezr,

You are quite right, it´s a Citroen TUB, the military name of this car is Citroen TAMH (source: Fancois Vauvillier: L´automobile sous l´uniforme).

Hello all,

The photo of May 8th 1945 shows retreating German troops including Red Cross trucks directon surrender to the Americans in Plzen.
Troops entering the small city of Melnik on the Labe(Moldau) river from the north and the south caused a real tragffic jam.

That truck with semi-trailer is not Tatra 111, is it? It is Henschel or Büssing or... what?
