Hi Sturm 78, hi Max,

for me it is the predecessor of the type L 2 H 142 or the heavier type L 2,5 H 142 because of the older cab: type L 2 H 42 or L 2,5 H 42, built from 1932 to 1934. Here two pics of the type L 2,5 H 42 (source of the first pic: http://motomuseum-hostalek.cz, here an elder version, source of the second pic: "Krupp Lastwagen 1919 - 1968" by Wolfgang H. Gebhardt, the version from 1934).

Best regards

Bert

Does anyone recognize these ambulance trucks? Parked in Hønefoss, Norway, May 1940. Someone said Opel Blitz but the front window seems to consists of two pieces of glass with a bar in the middle.

Hi Bhafs,
:welcome: Great photo! Clearly they are not Opel Blitzes. To me they look like 1939/40 Chevrolets:

Hi Bhafs,
And welcome!
I agree with Max they are Chevies. But I cannot agree they are "1939/40 Chevrolets". Because they are 1940 Chevrolets and on your picture the 1940 model ID points are well visible, such like wide radiator header, marker lights on the fenders (they are also parking lamps in American English ), etc.
HTH
Cheers!

N.B. Max, it wouldn't be bad to rename your picture to "Chevrolet_1940_Lkw_Balkan". :P

Hi ilfil,
Thanks for the ID. I wasn't sure whether they were 39 or 40 but studying the pic again with those points in mind you are quite correct.
Cheers,
Max

"Transport of wounded by plane. Arrival of a Red-Cross-plane on an airport near to Oslo. The wounded are carefully layd down from board of the transport airplane into the waiting motor vehicles of the Red Cross".

It is a 1934 Ford V8.

Yes,you are right. The trucks wheels are undoubtedly Ford five hole, five bolt ones and at first I thought the truck was a hybrid with 1935 front fenders on a '34 vehicle but later realized it is a 1936 model Ford V8 like this one. The cabs of the vehicles appear to be identical. Acknowledgements to Larrister for the pic.
