Hi Sturm,
Right, they are Chevrolets but with those winter jackets it is hard to say are they based on 1939 or 1940 chassis.

Hello Dirk,

I have a fair few photos of vehicles being drawn by horses and oxen, a disproportionate number are Red Cross marked. I have wondered whether the issue of scarce rationed fuel was lower-prority for these vehicles than for combat vehicles, occasioning the need to propel them by means other than petrol/diesel.

Just an idle thought!

The giant in service of the transport of wounded.
The giant transport aircraft has just touched down on the airfield and the ambulances already have driven up from all sides to overload the wounded into the aircraft, which will transfer them to military hospitals for the fastest further treatment.
