Berghof scale model
Berghof scale model
Just found & registered on this forum, so greetz to all from the Netherlands,
A German acquaintance of mine is an amateur-historian, and for over a decade he has been busy building a detailed scale model of the Berghof complex in his attic.
About a month ago he sent me a few pics of the project.
His model is based on the original blueprints which he found in a Munich archive, and from left to right the model measures +/- 1.85 meters.
I found this project interesting enough to share on the Dutch WW2 forum, and maybe the members here will like it as well.
The website in the pictures is not yet active, but as soon as the model is finished (probably in 1 or 2 years) a professional photographer will be hired to take better quality pictures of all angles and details for use on the website.
The maker is also writing a book about the Berghof complex, which will feature several hereto unknown pictures from both the outside and the inside of the buildings.
These were made by former household staff members, from which some of them are still alive today.

I already sent the builder a link to this thread, and from what i understand his children can translate for him.
Don't know the exact scale of the model, so i hope the man himself will chime in.

Awesome work. If only I had the patients to do a project like this. Anyway, I was also wondering what the scale is.
