Panther G from 2. SS-Panzer-Division "Das Reich" original colour

Post by H.V.Manteuffel » 17 Jan 2016, 14:40

Hello!! I'd like to paint a german Panther G from the 2. SS-Panzer-Division "Das Reich" based on the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944.
Lamentably I don't know the german colours code and if that Division used a special camouflage. I was at Grandmenil in Belgium some years ago and It's an interesting project! hehe. I attach a picture of a Panther exposed there.
I would need the base colour code and the camouflage if It's possible.
Have a nice day, George

Hello

A google search on the term - "Panther G from 2. SS-Panzer-Division "Das Reich" original colour" - gives some info:

https://www.google.dk/search?q=Panther+ ... 66&bih=555

The drawing shows "Panther Ausf. G Panther no 126, from 12. SS-Panzer-Division, Ardennes offensive" but 2. SS could also be found I think.

Regards
Kurt

Thank you very much for your help Kurt. I suppose the 12. SS-Panzer-Division was not very different from the 2nd, they are all SS and on the Ardennes offensive so It could be the right paint and camouflage. Lamentably I don't know the base colour code for create it or the model's paintings for it. The same happens for the camouflage, I don't know the colours code. I'd like to be the most precisely that I can.

I want to show what I've been recommended.
Tamiya:

- XF81 Dark green
- XF60 Dark Yellow ( Base colour )
- XF64 Red Brown

Now I can paint the Panther!
All the best, George
