As a curiosity, where from are comming the words "blue prints" for drawings & all that stuff, related to an airplane or armour ?

I believe most blue prints are in fact blue with white text in the US - although books rarely use this, as it would use a lot of ink...
I don't know why it has been done this way, though...

It comes from the actual blue color of the paper on which plans are printed. I don't know the printing procedure (it might be similar to the heliographic printing used in our factories :wink: ) and maybe the paper is covered with some sort of special substance or something for printing (or better say to erase) the lines...I guess.
