Hobby Boss 1/72nd scale Dora kit

Hi - I was thinking of buying one of the 1/72nd scale Dora kits out there and looked
around for any comments on the accuracy of what is available. I really didn't find much
in the way of that discussion so I took a profile illustration of the Hobby Boss kit
available on-line (presumably part of the artwork that is included with the kit) and
compared that to a 3D model I have been working on of my own Gustav Geschutz drawn
from original Krupp factory drawings. I am just including some simple comparisons that
I made as data - just in case anyone is interested.

Forgot to mention:
The actual center to center axle dimension is a standard 1500mm
(same for almost all railroad guns and many multi axle heavy transport wagons).
The end to end (buffer to buffer) dimension is 47000mm. If the various model
manufactures had just used these two dimension when creating their computer
models from photos, they most probably would have been overall more accurate.

Happy Modeling & Kind Regards

Interesting comparision Greg,
however it's sad how company made such errors... it's hard to fix it in model like this.
Even later upgrade sets would increase costs dramaticaly.

The best way would be to made 3D model of Dora/Gustav and later sell to the model company.
I think it was made this way with Uboot type IX which later was sold in Revell box.

Are You going to print Dora/Gustav too? :o
