Hi - several years ago I bought a couple of large folders of data from Karl Pawlas on autoloading rifles. Part of that collection included data on Sturmgewehr 44 (MP44) and the Fallschirmjaegergewehr 42 (FG 42) both favorites of mine. Just for fun I thought I would do something different and decided to build a 3D model of the MP44 to use as an experiment for printing out in various scales. I did the design from period photos and drawings and printed the MP44 in 1/6, 1/16, 1/35, 1/48 and even 1/72 scales. I only used the medium print resolution for the first test. I will later rerun the smaller scale items using the higher resolution settings and I suspect they will come out a bit better.
Have fun always -

Re: Sturmgewehr 44 (MP44) - 3D printed
this is awesome, the possibilities are endless now..!
I am in a group on fb where someone is (legally, of course) attempting to build a modern version of a mauser c96,
he is in the 3d machining program design phase for the mainframe now I think.
