Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf J trop Academy 1/35

Post by Milan Mynar » 24 Feb 2021 19:33

I bought a new model, a recently made novelty from the Academy company. The kit is very nice, it contains a lot of parts. It allows you to build a variant of the tank with a short, as well as with a long cannon. The only minus of the kit is the design of the track links. I will soon start building this model.

That is some exceptionally good work. I have seen those recent Academy kits at my local hobby shop and was wondering how they would build up. Don't do 1/35 scale often, due to space limitations, but the Panzer III has long been a favorite of mine, and this might be the exception to the rule. Can't wait to see it complete.

The continuation of the painting, I sprayed model by two Tamiya colors XF-59 and XF-60.

Thank you for your comment McDonald, the Pz.Kpfw. III is my favourite WW II tank, I like it´s forms. This kit is very good, all parts fit together very well, building of it is relax.

Academy has what looks to be a very nice Panzer 35T as well.

Did you mix the 59 and 60, or spray one then a light coat of the other? Whatever you did the painted model looks splendid. Anxious to see how you handle painting the tracks. I also particularly handled the priming giving a darker accent or shadow effect in several critical places on the hull and turret.

Yes, you are right, the model of Skoda Lt.vz. 35 (Pz.Kpfw. 35 (t) ) is good kit. I am going to build it in Czechoslovak pre-war camo. I sprayed upper surface of the Pz. Kpfw. III lighter color, it will be seen better in next photos. Here you are some photos of my first Pz. Kpfw III, model made by Miniart, I built it six years ago.

VERY Nice. Looks like it is ready to rampage just about anywhere it darn well pleases.
